Bacon and cheddar scones
What flavor combo is tried and true? That would be bacon and cheddar cheese of course!
When making fresh eggs for breakfast, this combo is simply delicious and one of our favorite ways to start a perfect day, until this little baked wedge of goodness came along.
Before we get to the flavorful recipe, let's talk about what you will need to make these delicious scones at home!
Tools to make scones
I have a few of my must-have tools to make perfect scones every time, no matter if they are sweet or savory. Here's what you need:
- Pastry blender: This is something that is important for cutting in cold butter. Cold butter is what helps to keep your scones fluffy.
- Silicone spatula: Great for stirring sticky scone dough. For years I used a wooden spoon but found that a spatula works so much better.
- Bowl scraper or Bench scraper: These are worth their weight in gold when it comes to baking! A bowl scraper can be used like a bench scraper, but it is much cheaper! You can get a set of 6 bowl scrapers for under $7 on Amazon!

I made these this morning and they are AMAZING!! I have never grated butter before, so I thought I would try it and the scones turned out flaky with a slightly crisp outside. I will be making these again. I also added sage instead of chives as I had some in my garden. 100% will make again!!
